Job Seekers, LOOK HERE!

The U.S. Department of Labor today posted the results of its Tools for America's Job Seekers Challenge, listing the top-rated sites in six categories: general job boards, niche tools, career tools, career exploration tools, Web 2.0, and "other" that are available at http://www.careeronestop.org/jobseekertools.

"My thanks go out to the businesses and organizations that submitted their tools for evaluation, and to the members of the public who offered their input," said Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, fresh from her spirited testimony before the House Education and Labor Committee eralier this week. "We called on the public to let us know what they want out of online job tools, and they have responded in great numbers. In the process, we also created a great resource for job seekers."

More than 16,000 people registered to vote for tools and submit comments. All participating tools are now posted on the site.

This was an eight-week DOL effort to solicit public input but also give sites' personnel a chance to become better known. The full list of sites that entered the challenge can be accessed through http://www.dol.gov/challenge.
