The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists announced a "Control Banding: Uses and Misuses" webinar will take place Feb. 12 beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

Control banding is a user-friendly ,qualitative assessment process that allows the user to quickly determine appropriate engineering controls needed to protect workers based on readily available information on chemical hazards and potential for exposure. This process is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises, but large corporations are also considering its application.

ACGIH said its webinar will present and critique the version of control banding promoted by the United Kingdom's Health and Safety Executive and the International Labour Organization.
