After monitoring the recall of Galaxy Note7, the agency has updated its guidelines.

The agency reported its General Industry Safety and Health Division conducted an inspection at the Ypsilanti facility in response to an employee complaint alleging safety and health hazards. Citations were issued for eight serious, six repeat serious, three other-than-serious, and two repeat other-than-serious violations.
Employees are to be trained when they are initially assigned to work with a hazardous chemical. Additional training is to be done whenever a new health or physical hazard is introduced into the work area.
GHS was introduced in Australia in January 2012 with a five-year transition period to give chemical manufacturers and importers enough time to implement the necessary changes. It applies to chemicals with physical hazards, health hazards, and environmental hazards.

When the list is published in the Federal Register, that will trigger a statutory deadline to complete risk evaluations for the chemicals within three years. The evaluation will determine whether the chemicals present an unreasonable risk to humans and the environment.
EPA must select the first 10 "Work Plan" chemicals for this risk assessment by the end of 2016, and it has planned to publish the list in mid-December.
The inspection began May 16, 2016, after a complaint that an amputation injury early this year at the window manufacturer's Dalton, Pa., facility was not reported to OSHA. The inspection also was done as part of OSHA's national emphasis program on amputations.
The company was cited for willful and serious safety violations.
