DOJ Agency Seeking Input on Gun Safety Technologies

The National Institute of Justice plans to issue a report on the availability and use of safety technologies.

The National Institute Justice, part of the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs, is seeking comments and information about currently available and emerging gun safety technologies.

For the next 45 days, the agency will accept comments and information at this website, or they may be emailed to [email protected].

The agency's Federal Register notice says it wants input because it plans to issue a report on the availability and use of gun safety technologies. Stakeholders mentioned in the notice include law enforcement, gun safety subject matter experts, firearms manufacturers, RFID engineers, biometrics specialists, and microelectronics experts.
