‘Find It – Fix It’ Ergonomics Challenge Is On

Humantech, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based ergonomics company, announced it is sponsoring its fourth annual Find It – Fix It ChallengeTM, which recognizes and rewards simple and effective workplace solutions that result in increased productivity, improved worker morale, and fewer workplace injuries and illnesses. The contest, open to all Humantech clients, past or present, was derived from Humantech RAPID Team Events®, which are based on the concept of making quick, simple, visible changes to improve ergonomic issues in the workplace.

“The Find It – Fix It Challenge is a great opportunity to recognize organizations investing in and supporting their human capital,” said Humantech President James Good. “All the contest entries are an inspiration to business leaders looking for ways to leverage ergonomics to create more profitable and sustainable companies. Recent winning entries are highly effective solutions that display a level of simplicity approaching genius."

Fifteen finalists will be selected by a panel of Certified Professional Ergonomists and Humantech staff members. From the field of finalists, two honorable mentions and one first place winner will be selected. Finalists will be notified by mid-November, and the winning photos and submissions will be posted on the Humantech website in early December.

In the 2009 Find it – Fix It Challenge, the John Deere Des Moines Works facility in Ankeny, Iowa, received top honors for its lift cart muffler fixture. Honorable mentions were given to Terex Handlers in Baraga, Mich., for its cable track installer and Delta Faucet Company in Jackson, Tenn., for its project punchout.

Organizations are asked to submit their best workplace improvements, highlighting the implementation of a creative, sustainable, and high-impact ergonomic solution. The deadline to submit is Sept. 15. An information package can be downloaded at www.humantech.com/aboutus/findfix. Questions about the online application process or the challenge can be e-mailed to [email protected].
