New publisher announced

OH&S Gets New Publisher

1105 Government Information Group (GIG), a division of OH&S parent company 1105 Media Inc. and a multi-platform business-to-business media and publishing firm with print, online, and events assets serving the government markets, announced the appointment of veteran publishing and digital media executive Kevin O'Grady as a group publisher, effective April 1, 2010. He will oversee the company's Dallas-based security and health & safety division, which includes the Security Products, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Protection brands. The announcement was made by GIG Vice President and Group Publisher Jennifer Weiss.

O'Grady was most recently vice president of Publications at Canon Communications, a publisher and producer of digital media and trade shows for advanced manufacturing and technology industries. During his more than 12 years at Canon, O'Grady also worked as vice president of Sales and Marketing and as publisher and sales manager for the Plastics Group and Electronics Group. During this time, he led both Publications and Digital groups to achieve their greatest revenues, contributions, and contribution margins. In addition, he participated in multiple acquisitions and start ups and initiated the development of more than 100 new digital and online products.

"We are delighted to have someone with Kevin's business-to-business experience joining us, and we look forward to the development and growth of these properties," said Weiss.

"I am ready to move forward with new ideas and build on the strength of the groups," said O'Grady. "I'm really excited to join the team as we continue to be the premier business-to-business media firm serving these markets."
