FMCSA, ATRI Co-Host Untethered Trailer Tracking Webinar Jan. 8

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the American Transportation Research Institute will jointly host another national online forum designed to provide peer-to-peer industry insights on safety technologies. The Jan. 8 webinar will focus on carrier utilization of untethered trailer tracking systems (UTTs) and their potential for enhancing asset management and security in trucking operations.

With the dramatic increase in the use of trailer tracking systems throughout the United States, it is important to understand the operational impacts and opportunities that UTTs can provide. Industry participants in the webinar will hear from Mike Gabbei, Chief Information Officer for Celadon Trucking Services, and Al Hoffer, Director of Trailer Operations for Landstar Systems, on their use of UTTs. Motor carrier representatives can simultaneously listen and watch the live FMCSA-sponsored webinar from any location in the country that has Internet and telephone access.

To register for the event, which runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. EST, send an email to [email protected] and include the words "UTT Webinar" in the subject line. Include your company name and location in your registration email. Confirmation notices will be emailed within 24 hours of registration, and will contain the Web address, phone number, and other relevant information for participation. For technical questions on the webinar or special accommodations, contact the conference coordinator at (202) 385-2375.
