Kalb Construction Receives Nevada Safe Partner Award
The Las Vegas contractor expanded training, introduced near-miss reporting and increased employee participation in identifying hazards.

Nevada’s Safety Consultation and Training Section has recognized Kalb Construction with its Safe Partner Award following the Las Vegas company’s work to expand employee training and strengthen job-site safety practices.
The award recognizes employers’ use of the section’s free safety services and is presented to no more than four Nevada businesses annually.
Through its partnership with the agency, Kalb Construction expanded safety training, conducted routine job-site inspections and established a process for reporting near misses. Employees also became more involved in identifying workplace hazards.
The company increased leadership participation in safety efforts and introduced programs recognizing employees for safe work practices, according to the announcement.
Known as SCATS, the section operates within the Nevada Division of Industrial Relations. Its services include confidential assistance with hazard identification, safety program development and implementation, as well as training.
Employers can also access safety consultations, training courses and the Safety and Health Practitioner Program. SCATS may recognize employers that implement effective safety programs and maintain a rate of cases involving days away from work, restricted duty or job transfers below their industry’s national average.
