Date: Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 2:00pm ET - 1:00pm CT - 11:00am PT
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) reports that about 28% of all workers have been exposed to hazardous noise, with 16% being exposed in the last year. In addition, approximately 13% of all workers have been exposed to ototoxic chemicals, which can cause damage to the ear.
In this webinar we will review noise and how it can cause hearing loss, and other potential causes of occupational hearing including ototoxic chemicals. Hearing loss can occur gradually and may not be noticed until it starts to impact daily life. A hearing conservation program is intended to prevent occupational hearing loss.
When noise cannot be eliminated or reduced, hearing protection is often used to protect workers’ hearing. There are a variety of types and styles available. In the webinar will review important selection factors including noise reduction rating, comfort, workplace factors, and fit.
