Southern Oregon Conference Offers Workplace Safety Training

The event, a joint effort between Oregon OSHA and ASSP's Southern Oregon Chapter, will cover fall protection, heat-illness prevention and safety leadership topics.

Employers and workers in southern Oregon will have access to workshops and presentations on workplace safety and health during a three-day conference in October.

The Southern Oregon Occupational Safety & Health Conference, set for Oct. 13-15 at Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites, is a collaboration between the Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and Oregon OSHA. Sessions will cover fall protection, hearing conservation, safety committees, and safety leadership, along with preconference certification workshops in first aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator use.

Additional sessions will address incident analysis, confined space permitting, bystander intervention, psychological safety, and Oregon OSHA's heat-illness prevention requirements. The program will also examine ways organizations can recognize warning signs before serious incidents occur and strengthen workplace safety practices.
