Milwaukee Tool expanded its national safety training program to include mental health awareness and suicide prevention during the 2026 Construction Safety Week, which concluded May 8.
The initiative involved more than 200 company employees who conducted over 500 training sessions at jobsites, unions and apprenticeship centers. The outreach reached more than 100,000 workers across the United States.
The construction industry currently faces some of the highest suicide rates among all professions. To address this, Milwaukee Tool partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to integrate "Talk Saves Lives: Construction" training into its standard jobsite safety demonstrations.
The goal of the partnership is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and provide tradespeople with resources to recognize warning signs in their colleagues. By embedding these conversations into existing safety programs, the aim is to make mental health a standard part of the jobsite environment.
