A major safety equipment manufacturer is mobilizing its experts to lead 750 training sessions across the country this month in support of the federal National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction.
The initiative, organized by OSHA, focuses on reducing falls, which remain the leading cause of death in the construction industry. Werner’s Jobsite Safety and Security team will provide instruction to an estimated 75,000 professionals through a mix of on-site demonstrations, technical talks and digital education.
This year’s training program centers on a new theme, "Safety Aware. Rescue Prepared." The curriculum prioritizes three primary areas: proper harness fit and inspection, hazard recognition and the development of emergency rescue plans to prevent suspension trauma.
The training efforts are designed to be accessible to a wide range of industry participants, from large-scale contractors to independent tradespeople. To support a more diverse workforce, the company is also expanding its multilingual resources, including Spanish-language videos and guides covering the "ABCDEs" of fall protection.
In addition to the physical training events, a new online resource center has been launched to provide on-demand safety content. These digital tools include harness inspection tutorials and "Walk It Down" videos that demonstrate how to properly secure equipment before beginning work at height.
