OSHA Investigating Carnival Worker's Death

A carnival worker dies after being struck in the head by a ride.

After the accidental death of a carnival worker, New York OSHA officials are determining whether violations of safety standards occurred.

The incident happened Saturday night, Aug. 31,  in Brentwood when a worker was struck on the head by one of the carnival’s spinning rides. Police released a statement saying that Michael Austin was working on repairs under the ride, stood up, and was struck in the head and knocked to the ground.

OSHA’s Long Island office is currently investigating the incident.
