National Safety Council Awards Veteran Scholarships Supported by Boeing

A total of 75 veterans received scholarships for the Advanced Safety Certificate program to advance careers in occupational safety.

Dozens of U.S. military veterans will receive specialized professional development after being selected for a national workplace safety training initiative.

The National Safety Council, in partnership with Boeing, selected 75 recipients for the 2026 Advanced Safety Certificate Scholarship for Veterans. The annual program supports former service members transitioning into or advancing within environmental, health and safety careers.

Funding provided by Boeing allowed the initiative to expand its reach, increasing the number of annual awards from 50 to 75. Support for the program is scheduled to continue through 2029.

In addition to full coverage of all training costs required to earn the credential, scholarship recipients receive registration and travel accommodations for the upcoming National Safety Council Safety Congress and Expo in Indianapolis. The event provides recipients with opportunities to network with industry peers and examine emerging workplace hazards.

The safety certificate program focuses on practical industry practices and technical skills required to implement safety improvements across industrial and corporate settings.
