Chrysler Dedicates World Class Manufacturing Academy

A staff of trainers will work with about 1,200 plant managers and other employees every year at the facility in Warren, Mich.

Chrysler Group dedicated a new World Class Manufacturing Academy at the UAW-Chrysler Technology Training Center in Warren, Mich., on Jan. 24. The group's Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and WCM Scott Garberding said during the dedication that WCM "is not a 'flavor of the month,' it's the only way we do business," according to a blog post the next day by Mike Driehorst.

He noted that since the 25,000-square-foot academy began as a pilot phase last year, more than 320 students have attended more than 30 sessions there. It has a staff of four full-time trainers and 12 associate trainers who as called in as needed, and all of them previously worked in Chrysler manufacturing, Driehorst wrote.

They will be working with about 1,200 plant managers and other employees every year, he wrote.
