Fox, Hsieh, Branson Highlight SHRM Conference

The keynoters highlight a powerful educational program for the Society for Human Resource Management's 2011 annual conference and expo, which opens June 26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Three strong keynote speakers highlight the educational program for the Society for Human Resource Management's 2011 annual conference and expo, which opens June 26 and continues through June 29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Sir Richard Branson, president and founder of Virgin Group, will speak during the opening session June 26; Zappos.com Inc. CEO Tony Hsieh is the speaker for a June 28 session; and actor Michael J. Fox is the closing session speaker on June 29.

Virgin is one of the world's best-known brands, and the Zappos.com story is one of the biggest e-ecommerce successes ever. Fox founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation to seek a cure for Parkinson's disease, which caused him to semi-retire from acting in 2000. He will talk about his life and positive outlook during the closing session.

The conference's education program is packed with sessions about timely topics, including employment law -- the June 20 decision in Wal-Mart v. Dukes is likely to be a hot topic of discussion -- and FMLA, workforce privacy issues, wellness, conflict resolution, ANSI and ISO human resources standards, and more.
