International Emergency Management Conference Set for Prague

The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) will hold its first conference, entitled "Global Cooperation in Emergency and Disaster Management," on June 17 to 19, 2008, in Prague.

The following event speakers have been confirmed:

  • Jean Luc Wybo, France, "Organizational Learning in Emergency Management from Theory to Practice."
  • Geary Sikich, USA, "Pandemic: The Second Wave. How prepared are we? A Simulation Introduction."
  • Bernd Rohrmann, Australia, "Risk perception, risk attitude, risk communication, risk management: A conceptual appraisal."

A special feature at the conference will be a simulation exercise on the second wave of an influenza pandemic. All participants are invited to participate and can prepare themselves by reading "Introduction to the Influenza Pandemic Simulation" (available here).

A panel discussion will also be held titled "EU Research & Development Program / How to find a Good Partner and Join a Consortium and Make a Good proposal?”
