Bring the Golf Clubs, Safety 2007 Offers Numerous Diversions

The American Society of Safety Professionals has a lot of activities planned before, during, and after the Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exposition, Safety 2007, held June 24-27 in Orlando, Fla.

The ASSE Foundation will host a pre-PDC golf outing at the Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. Celebration Golf Course on Sunday, June 24.

The Central Florida Chapter will be host to a PDC "night out" for PDC attendees at SeaWorld Orlando Adventure Park Monday, June 25 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., promising a night of music, family entertainment, and the opportunity to meet some of the resident animals, such as the dolphins and the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales. The Shamu show, fireworks, and a water screen presentation will also be featured.

During the PDC, ASSE is sponsoring technical tours to the PCL Construction site of the new water theme park, Aquatica; the Kennedy Space Center; the Progress Energy Power Plant; Discovery Cove; and the Walt Disney World "Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show."

Other ASSE guest tour offerings include kayaking the endangered Indian River Lagoon; the Winter Park Cultural Tour; the Airboat Adventure at Old Florida Fish Camp; the Ming Court Cooking School and Luncheon; the "talking" Dolphin Pontoon Cruise; and Gatorland.
