PIP and Gore Collaborate on Protective Workwear

A new clothing collection is designed to address thermal, electrical and chemical hazards within one garment system.

Protective clothing for workers facing multiple hazards is the focus of a new collaboration between PIP Global Safety and the fabrics business of W. L. Gore & Associates.

The companies are introducing PIP’s Multi-Hazard Workwear Collection, which was recently displayed at the NCSC’s Safety Congress & Expo. According to PIP, the clothing system is designed to provide protection against thermal, electrical and chemical hazards.

The collection addresses situations in which workers would otherwise need separate garments or additional layers for different exposures. The companies said their development work will also focus on comfort, garment durability and freedom of movement.

The collaboration combines PIP’s experience designing personal protective equipment with Gore’s work in materials science. The companies expect further product development over the coming quarters.
