Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling approved a renewed charter for the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) while serving as acting secretary. The panel counsels the secretaries of labor and health and human services on how the Occupational Safety and Health Act is carried out.
OSHA announced the renewal in a Sept. 21 Federal Register notice. The charter expires two years after its filing date, while the committee itself does not have a specified termination date.
Congress established NACOSH under Section 7(a) of the 1970 law. The Federal Advisory Committee Act requires the committee's charter to be renewed every two years.
