Construction Report Reviews Technology Used to Manage Jobsite Safety Risks

Construction firms’ safety leaders wrote case studies on drones, incident data, heat and digital hazard planning.

Construction safety professionals are using technology to address heat exposure, hazardous conditions, inspections and worker well-being, according to a new collection of contractor case studies.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) released its sixth annual construction technology report Oct. 5. The report looks at connected-jobsite systems, sensors that monitor environmental conditions, wearable devices and artificial intelligence tools that flag risks.

Case studies also address hydration and fatigue management, hand-tool safety standards and jobsite security. The report was supported by members of ABC's Tech Alliance program and strategic partner Milwaukee Tool.
