OSHA Cites FleetPride Following Fatal Corpus Christi Incident
Federal regulators propose $264,380 in penalties after a worker asphyxiated while inspecting a tanker trailer at the Texas facility.

A federal safety investigation into a fatal incident at a local big rig parts distribution facility has resulted in multiple citations and proposed penalties of more than $260,000 for a nationwide distributor.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration began its inspection of FleetPride Inc. following an incident where an employee asphyxiated while inspecting a tanker trailer.
Investigators cited the company for 16 serious and three other-than-serious safety violations. According to regulators, the company failed to implement a required confined space program, lacked necessary elements for its respiratory protection program and exposed employees to electrical hazards.
The agency has proposed $264,380 in penalties.
The company has 15 business days from receiving the citations to comply, request an informal conference with the agency’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
