Industrial Hygiene Foundation Hits Scholarship Fundraising Goal

The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation successfully raised $10,000 for student scholarships while opening applications for the next cycle.

A national safety foundation has successfully met its latest fundraising milestone to support the next generation of workplace safety professionals.

The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation reached its $10,000 fundraising goal through its recent campaign. The funds will directly back student scholarships for individuals pursuing degrees in industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health and safety. Over the past 40 years, the foundation has awarded more than $3.3 million in scholarships to bolster the professional safety pipeline.

In tandem with the fundraising milestone, the foundation has opened its scholarship application window for eligible students. The funding is available to both full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in accredited industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety or public health programs.

Applicants must submit academic transcripts, a personal statement, a project or thesis description, a resume and two professional letters of recommendation. The foundation uses an independent advisory committee to review applications and select recipients.

The current application cycle also features needs-based scholarships designed to support students who face financial or socioeconomic barriers. To qualify for a needs-based award, students must first complete the standard application process before receiving an invite to submit financial verification materials. All documents must be submitted digitally in PDF format.

Approved scholarship funds are distributed ahead of the fall semester, and recipients are publicly honored at the annual industry conference. Students enrolled in non-listed safety programs may still be considered if a school administrator submits a formal justification form on their behalf.
