James Boretti Named ASSP Fellow for Safety Leadership

The American Society of Safety Professionals honors the Boretti Inc. CEO for 40 years of dedicated service and professional excellence.

The ASSP has named James Boretti, CEO of Boretti Inc., a fellow, one of 154 recipients since the group's founding in 1911.

The designation recognizes at least 15 years of contributions to preventing workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities. Boretti, with more than 40 years in environmental health and safety, has worked in agriculture, construction, healthcare and manufacturing. His focus includes operational resilience and safety beyond regulatory compliance.

An ASSP member for nearly 40 years, Boretti has given more than 100 presentations on corporate safety management, ethics and sustainability. He has served on the finance, governmental affairs and technical and professional recognition committees.

“James has worked collaboratively to identify and mitigate risk, protect workers and elevate the profession worldwide,” ASSP President Linda Tapp said. “His leadership, expertise and mentorship have made a lasting impact.”

Boretti also leads pro bono initiatives to broaden access to safety resources. He will be honored June 14 at ASSP's Safety 2026 conference in Anaheim, California.
