The American Chemistry Council recognizes industry leaders for excellence in environmental stewardship and workplace safety.

The American Chemistry Council honored several chemical manufacturers and logistics partners for outstanding performance in safety and environmental stewardship during its 2026 Responsible Care and Sustainability Conference.

The annual awards highlight organizations that demonstrate a commitment to the Responsible Care initiative, a voluntary program focused on improving health, safety and environmental performance. This year’s top honors for Company of the Year were awarded to Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP in the large category, TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA Inc. in the medium category and PQ Corporation in the small category.

The council also recognized partner companies that manage the distribution and transportation of chemical products. Trinity Industries Inc., Total Quality Logistics and Material Logistics & Services LLC earned Partner Company of the Year titles.

In the sustainability sector, the awards shifted focus toward innovative technologies. Winners included Wacker Chemical Corporation for chemistry innovation, LANXESS Corporation for environmental protection and Dow for social responsibility.

The conference also highlighted the role of emerging technology in industrial safety. Albemarle Corporation, Dow, Huntsman Corporation and Wacker Chemical Corporation received accolades for their use of artificial intelligence and digitalization to improve operational efficiency.

Individual honors were presented to Karen Study of Dow and Jim Clawson Jr. of Third Coast, who were named Employees of the Year for their respective contributions to process safety and leadership.

Additional recognition was provided to 59 companies for facility safety excellence, while dozens of projects were cited for improvements in energy efficiency and water stewardship.
