Friday New Product Roundup: April 3, 2026

From MASH-certified water barriers to nail-gun-free crating, explore the latest innovations in fall protection, PPE, and work zone safety.

UFP Packaging Nail-Gun-Free Crate Line

The company has expanded its pneumatic-free portfolio with the debut of the Slot-Lock and Clamp-Lock 100 industrial crate systems. Designed to eliminate the safety risks associated with nail and staple guns, these systems allow for secure assembly without the need for traditional pneumatic tools. The Slot-Lock utilizes interlocking panels secured by strapping for sensitive electronics and aerospace components, while the Clamp-Lock 100 uses hand-applied steel L-bracket fasteners for heavy infrastructure materials. By removing high-pressure tools from the assembly process, these crates improve worker safety and ergonomics while offering a reusable, sustainable alternative to traditional one-way shipping containers.

FallTech FT-R® Class 1 SRL-R Series

Engineered for the rigors of confined-space operations, FallTech’s new FT-R® SRL-R series combines traditional fall arrest with a built-in retrieval mechanism. This dual-purpose design allows crews to transition seamlessly to rescue mode via a simple plunger pin and hand crank, eliminating the need for extra tools during an emergency. The device is 30 percent lighter than comparable lifelines in its class and features a specialized mechanism to reduce "nuisance lockups" during worker movement. Additionally, an Arc Flash-rated version with a Technora® rope lifeline is available for high-voltage environments. Both models are ANSI Class 1-compliant and compatible with standard tripods and davit systems.

RefrigiWear Spring Workwear Buyer’s Guide

Dahlonega-based RefrigiWear has released a comprehensive Spring Workwear Buyer’s Guide to assist safety managers and workers in selecting appropriate PPE for unpredictable transitional weather. The resource focuses on the technical differences between waterproof and water-repellent materials, as well as the importance of lightweight layering to maintain productivity in fluctuating temperatures. Beyond apparel, the guide offers insights into selecting grip-assisting gloves for wet conditions and lightweight, slip-resistant footwear designed to reduce foot fatigue. By utilizing temperature-based comfort ratings and safety standard benchmarks for high-visibility and cut-resistant gear, the guide helps ensure that outdoor crews in construction and utilities remain protected and compliant throughout the spring season.

TrafFix Devices Water Cable Barrier

Achieving a milestone in highway safety, TrafFix Devices has introduced the Water Cable Barrier, the first longitudinal barrier to pass MASH TL-1 and TL-2 testing with and without integrated fencing. This system features an internal galvanized steel cable that links segments together, creating a continuous line designed to intercept and restrain vehicles rather than allowing them to break through into work zones. The barriers are constructed from UV-stabilized polyethylene with a double-wall knuckle design to prevent breakage at hinge points. While weighing only 100 pounds when empty for easy transport, each unit reaches 1,170 pounds when filled, providing heavy-duty impact resistance. For added site versatility, the system supports up to a 30-degree pivot between sections and includes a new corner piece for 90-degree configurations.
