CVS Health to Hire Thousands of Pharmacy Workers this Winter
The additional hires will help the influx of patients that will contract the flu or coronavirus as temperatures drop and the number of illnesses across the country rise.

CVS Health announced plans on October 19 to hire 15,000 workers to account for expected increases in COVID-19 and flu cases this fall and winter, according to the New York Times.
Over 10,000 of the new positions will go to licensed pharmacy technicians at CVS Pharmacy locations. The new workers will perform tasks such as processing prescriptions, administering coronavirus tests and distributing medications.
“Additional team members typically are needed every flu season,” said Lisa Bisaccia, CVS Health chief human resources officer. “However, we’re estimating a much greater need for trained pharmacy technicians this year given the continued presence of COVID-19 in our communities.”
Monday’s announcement is the result of the commitment CVS Health made in March to fill 50,000 jobs in the United States.
