DOL Makes Funding Available for Job and Leadership Skills to Disadvantaged Youths

Anywhere from $700,000 to $1.1 million will be awarded to YouthBuild programs across the country.

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced grant funding is now available to expand YouthBuild programs nationwide. YouthBuild programs provide young people with job skills in construction.

Grants will be awarded to programs that offer the "YouthBuild Construction Plus" model, which gives additional training for other occupations such as health care, information technology, and logistics.

Grants will range from $700,000 to $1.1 million and will come with certain changes in the model, such as the inclusion of evaluation criteria, removal of the calendar and requirements, and more.
