Drone Advisory Committee Holds Second Meeting

Three draft tasking statements were reviewed by the committee

The Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) held its second meeting on January 31, 2017, in Reno, NV. According to a news release, the committee reviewed three draft tasking statements: the roles and responsibilities of federal, state, and local governments in regulating and enforcing drone laws; technological and regulatory mechanisms that would allow drone operators to gain more access to airspace; and funding to offset the cost of supporting unmanned aircraft integration into airspace.

The first two task group statements have been approved and finalized. The FAA is reviewing the third task statement, and expects it to be finalized over the next couple of weeks.
