Expo Reception Sets the Tone for a Busy VPPPA Week

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The expo at this year's VPPPA Annual National Safety & Health Conference opened Monday for a 5-7 p.m. reception that gave attendees the chance to corral PPE manufacturers' representatives about their safety problems and issues. Having the opportunity to sample fish and chips, several pizza varieties, chicken and beef tostadas, and a chili bar made it particularly worthwhile for attendees, who filled the expo floor's aisles and kept exhibitor personnel busy for most of the two-hour reception.

The educational sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday will cover everything from aging workforces to training, contractors' safety, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, lagging morale, and construction safety to slips and falls, emergency response, ladder safety, ergonomics, machine guarding, GHS, and more. And the expo continues on Tuesday (8 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.) and Wednesday (9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.).

Many exhibitors are participating in this conference and will be in Anaheim in mid-October for the National Safety Congress & Expo, as well. They say they are keeping a wary eye on oil and gas prices and also on a tropical depression that may bring heavy rain to central Florida at the end of this week.
