Revised Driver Examination Forms Must Be Used Starting April 20, Says FMCSA

The agency is reminding medical examiners and commercial motor vehicle drivers

The FMCSA has produced a news release that reminds Medical Examiners (MEs) and commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers that MEs performing physical examinations of CMV drivers must use the revised versions of the Medical Examination Report (MER) Form and the Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) Form.

The requirement that these forms be used starts on April 20. In April 2015, FMCSA published the Medical Examiner’s Certification Integration final rule, which required the use of revised MER and MEC forms.

A grace period has been provided since December 22, 2015.
