VPPPA 2015 Award Winners Announced

The Outreach Award went to Tropicana Products Inc. and the Innovation Award to both Washington River Protection Solutions and Raytheon-Intelligence, Information and Services Indianapolis Site.

GRAPEVINE, Texas -- The 2015 winners of VPPPA awards were announced at the start of the #VPPPA31 Safety & Health Conference taking place here. Five individuals won Safety & Health Achievement Program awards -- Colleen Schmidt of GE Healthcare-ISS, Kevin Schoonover of Mission Support Alliance LLC, Michael Kinder of Newport News Shipbuilding, Robert Hill of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, and Sharon Kidd of Savannah River Remediation LLC.

The VPP Outreach Award went to Tropicana Products Inc. of Jersey City, N.J. Two companies received the Innovation Award this year, Washington River Protection Solutions in Richland, Wash., and Raytheon-Intelligence, Information and Services Indianapolis Site.

Two companies also won the Safety & Health Outreach Award. They are CH2M Hill Plateau Remediation Co. in Richland, Wash., and Marathon Petroleum Company LP of Robinson, Ill.

The June Brothers Scholarship went to Debra Henze of Ammon, Idaho; the Stephen Brown Scholarship to Garret Hamby of Kennewick, Wash.; and the William "Sully" Sullivan Scholarship to Tyler J. Dean of Richland, Wash.

Each VPPPA region awarded Mentor of the Year and Special Government Employee of the Year awards, as well.
