IAFC Seeks Input for Emergency Response Volunteer Summit
The summit's goal is to produce a strategic plan that can be used to address issues, challenges, and concerns about volunteerism critical to the future of the emergency-response community and to the financial well-being of the nation.
The International Association of Fire Chiefs’ (IAFC) Volunteer & Combination Officers Section (VCOS) will sponsor a National Summit in Washington, D.C., in March, focused on "Constructing a National Blueprint for Expanding the Future of Volunteerism in the Emergency Service Community.” The summit's goal is to produce a strategic plan that can be used to address issues, challenges, and concerns about volunteerism critical to the future of the emergency-response community and to the financial well-being of the nation. The resulting strategic plan will ultimately be published as a whitepaper.
The VCOS requests participation in a survey that will collect data to be used as a baseline during construction of the National Blueprint. Summit organizers are relying on participants’ input to provide ideas and vision for the future of the volunteer fire and emergency service. The survey can be completed here.
