The organization is part of Mississauga, Ontario-based CSA Standards, a not-for-profit membership organization that develops standards.

CSA International tests and certifies electrical, electronics, industrial products and components (including products for hazardous locations), gas-fired products, HVAC equipment, plumbing products, PPE, and other products to consensus safety and performance standards, including standards from ANSI, ASME, ASTM, ASSE, and UL.
