Safety 2023 Returns to San Antonio

The annual ASSP event aims to provide "valuable experiences" to safety professionals attending the June 5-7 conference and expo.

Thousands of safety professionals arrived for the first day of Safety 2023, which runs June 5 to 7, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The 2023 edition of the annual American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) conference and expo marks its return to San Antonio after five years, a period that included the COVID-19 public health emergency, which impacted safety professionals in various industries.

“You know, the last time we were in San Antonio was 2018,” said ASSP CEO Jennifer McNelly, CAE, during Monday morning's opening general session. “Now we’ve returned, and boy, the world has changed. It’s very, very different. But what inspires me today is your resilience and your dedication to safety and health.”

The event features full days of conference sessions across a variety of disciplines, an expo floor featuring more than 540 companies and organizations, keynote and plenary sessions and multiple networking events.

“ASSP is more focused than ever on providing you with valuable experiences that will change your thinking, advance your career, and help you better protect workers everywhere,” McNelly told attendees. “You made the right choice to be here at Safety 2023. The conference and expo were truly designed for you.”
