Kentucky Seating Company Wins Second State Safety Award

"Safety is our most valuable metric with Adient," said Todd Bruno, the Adient Georgetown plant's manager. "The Georgetown facility embraces safety each day. This is most evident as we recently surpassed one million hours without a lost-time accident for the second time in the last three years."

Kentucky Labor Cabinet Workplace Standards Commissioner Ervin Dimeny visited Adient in Georgetown, Ky., on Jan. 24 to present a Governor's Safety and Health Award for the 1,029,749 production hours worked by its employees without a lost-time incident.

"Congratulations to Adient in Georgetown on earning its second Governor's Safety and Health Award," Labor Secretary Derrick Ramsey said. "This accomplishment of working over one million hours without a lost-time incident does not occur without the dedication from everyone in the company to workplace safety. On behalf of Governor Bevin and the Labor Cabinet, it is my honor to acknowledge this achievement for the hard-working men and women at Adient."

Established in 2016, Adient produces automotive seating for all vehicle classes and all major original equipment manufacturers. It is the largest global automotive seating supplier, with 75,000 employees operating in 230 manufacturing plants in 33 countries worldwide. The company employs some 700 workers at its Georgetown facility.

"Safety is our most valuable metric with Adient," said Todd Bruno, the plant manager. "The Georgetown facility embraces safety each day. This is most evident as we recently surpassed one million hours without a lost-time accident for the second time in the last three years. This is an amazing accomplishment and further exemplifies our total commitment to a safe workplace."

The Kentucky Labor Cabinet presents the Governor's Safety and Health Award to highlight outstanding safety and health performance in Kentucky's workplaces. A business may qualify for the award if its employees achieve a required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness. The required number of hours depends on the number of employees.
