U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta traveled to Germany this week to tour the BMW Group's apprenticeship training facility in Munich and to attend the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers' Meeting in Bad Neuenahr.

The BMW visit builds on the move to improve workforce training in the United States that started when German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the White House in March. DOL reports apprenticeships in the United States are on the rise because they allow employers to retain talented workers.

The G20 sessions will discuss the American workforce, including job training and empowering women in the workplace.
