3M Awards 2016 Scholarships

The company honored three promising students May 22 at the AIHce conference in Baltimore

BALTIMORE -- 3M presented its 30th annual Occupational Health and Safety Scholarships on May 22 at AIHce 2016,taking place here at the Baltimore Convention Center and the Baltimore Hilton, which is the AIHce headquarters hotel.

The winners are:

Colleen Brents is a graduate student in environmental health sciences, with a concentration in occupational ergonomics and safety, in the Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University; she has worked as a graduate research assistant in the Rosencrance Ergonomics lab.

Michael Manning is a graduate student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a member of the University of Michigan Industrial Hygiene Association. This summer, he will complete an internship with General Motors in safety and industrial hygiene.

Yuan Shao is a first-year doctoral student in the industrial hygiene program at the University of Minnesota; he has authored or co-authored three peer-reviewed papers published in top industry journals and has completed internships for OSHA and the National Occupational Internship Program. He previously worked as an environmental impact assessment engineer in Beijing.
