Best 10 Safety Apps Listed at Safety 2015
Paul Colangelo went through an exhaustive research process to decide on the apps he finds most valuable.
In the afternoon session on day 3, June 9, of ASSE's Safety 2015 in Dallas, mobile apps for safety professionals were the hot topic. Paul Colangelo, national director of Compliance Programs for ASSE, evaluated more than 150 EHS apps available on a number of platforms in order to determine which ones were most valuable to workers.
Colangelo had a number of factors he took into account, including: cost, size of the app, content (is it relevant?), design, subscription model, registration requirements, and whether or not the app has an offline mode.
His list, which was not ranked, goes like this:
- OSHA Heath Safety Tool
- NIOSH Ladder Safety
- NIOSH Pocket Guide to Hazardous Chemicals
- Pocket First Aid
- Fall Clear Lite
- Electrical Safety Tests
- Incident Cost Calculator
- AccuWeather
- ILO Ergonomic Checkpoints
- I-Auditor
