Safe Drivers, Chapters Honored at NSC Awards Celebration

The National Safety Council held its annual National Awards Celebration during this week’s San Diego conference.

The National Safety Council hosted its 2014 National Awards Celebration during this week's Congress & Expo, honoring the safety accomplishments of numerous members and chapters. These included six Distinguished Service to Safety Award recipients and Honor Chapter Awards given to eight chapters in recognition of outstanding contributions to making the NSC statement of leadership, mission, and vision a reality. The winning chapters are the Chesapeake Region Safety Council; Safety Council of Western New England; Minnesota Safety Council; Safety & Health Council of North Carolina; Northern Ohio Chapter, NSC; Oklahoma Safety Council; South Carolina Chapter, NSC and Wisconsin Safety Council.

The ceremony recognized this year's Rising Stars of Safety, Occupational Award winners, and the winners of 2014 Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Awards: Homer T. Blackwell Jr., UPS; Mike Gustin, UPS; Dennis M. Harrill, U.S. Postal Service Eastern Area; Alban K. Knopik, U.S. Postal Service Western Area; Donald Lindsay, UPS; Keith Massey, U.S. Postal Service Pacific Area; Leonard Mecca, UPS; Michael Pizzolato, The Martin-Brower Company LLC; Arnold E. Putnam, Great Lakes Area; and Gerald Workman, Landstar Inway.
