Many Colorado Cities Cancelling Fireworks Events

Wildfires are raging in the state and have destroyed hundreds of homes in Colorado Springs alone.

It's no surprise that, with wildfires out of control and hundreds of homes in Colorado Springs alone destroyed, many of the cities in the Denver area have cancelled commercial fireworks events for the Fourth of July, The Denver Post's Kelsey Fowler reported June 28.

Her report said Boulder, Littleton, Fort Collins, Golden, Aspen, and the mountain towns of Breckenridge, Frisco, and Copper Mountain are among the jurisdictions announcing cancellations because of the severe weather conditions and the unprecedented wildfire situation.

Some displays in Denver itself are scheduled to go on as scheduled, including post-game fireworks at the Colorado Rockies' stadium, according to her report.
