Interspill 2012 Exhibit Space Already Sold Out

The March 13-15 event in London being hosted by the UKSpill Association is negotiating for additional space and finalizing the program.

Extra exhibit space is being worked out by the organizers of Interspill 2012, a London conference about preventing oil and chemical spills, because the available space sold out four months before the conference will open in March 13-15. U.S. oil and gas experts says the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill has had a profound effect on offshore operators' and contractors' training and preparedness efforts -– as well as spawning new federal regulations that require operators to have a Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) plan in place. The entire industry is similarly focused.

Interspill 2012's organizing committee received more than 100 abstracts for the meeting. BBC Environment Correspondent David Shukman is scheduled to give the opening keynote speech on March 13, but the rest of the program has not yet been posted.

INTERSPILL 2012 is hosted by the UKSpill Association in cooperation with several European spill response agencies. UKSpill is a not for profit company owned by its more than 100 members, which are organizations involved in UK oil spill response and cleanup work.
