While the safety board doesn't typically investigate motorcycle crashes, it conducted a motorcycle safety forum in 2006 and issued recommendations from that forum two years later. It has been more than 10 years since NTSB has issued new recommendations to help reduce motorcycle crashes and improve safety.

The researchers showed that certain clays kill bacteria, including many drug-resistant pathogens. "Working with Mayo Clinic, we showed that these clays also diminish populations of bacterial biofilms, as well as bacteria common in wounds that are more resistant to drugs," said Arizona State University biogeochemist Lynda Williams.

Thirteen of the 15 Local Emergency Planning Committees, consisting of first responders and covering 373 CFATS high-risk facilities, told GAO they did not have access to CFATS data in the secure IP Gateway. By encouraging wider use of the gateway, DHS would have greater assurance that responders have information about high-risk facilities and the chemicals they have on site, the audit report says.

David Zuby, IIHS chief research officer, said "it's important to note that none of these vehicles is capable of driving safely on its own. A production autonomous vehicle that can go anywhere, anytime isn't available at your local car dealer and won't be for quite some time. We aren't there yet."
