OSHA, Many Partners Behind Safe + Sound Week 2018

Safe + Sound Week in August 2018 is a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.

Safe + Sound Week is taking place Aug. 13-19, 2018. OSHA is behind the week and campaign, and it has a small army of partner companies and organizations taking part.

Safe + Sound Week is "a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces," according to the agency. Its online page for the week explains that safe workplaces are sound businesses that can proactively identify and manage workplace hazards before they cause injury or illness, improving sustainability and the bottom line. Participating in Safe + Sound Week can help get a company get its program started or energize an existing one, OSHA says.

Organizations of any size in any industry can participate by hosting an event for their workers or the general public. After a company has completed its events, it can download a certificate and web badge to recognize its organization and workers.
