This year's NFPA annual conference and expo is taking place June 22-25 in Chicago's McCormick Place and will include a presentation about the pending NFPA 350 Guide to Confined Space Entry and Work. It is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room S404bc. Those not attending the conference can keep track of what is happening with NFPA 350 by signing up for email alerts at www.nfpa.org/350.

According to NFPA, the technical committee working on the standard has completed the second draft revisions and, absent any NITMAMs (Notices of Intent to Make a Motion), the new guide will be released in November 20a5.

NFPA 350 will address how to comply with provisions in existing confined space regulations and standards by providing more detailed guidance on subjects such as hazard identification, air monitoring, ventilation, and rescue.
