CDC Ending Printed Distribution of MMWR

Effective Aug. 1, subscribers who now receive printed copies no longer will receive them. The publication is available free online.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is ending the print distribution of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report publication. Effective Aug. 1, subscribers who now receive printed copies no longer will receive them. The publication is available free online at http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr.

"The decision was reached after careful consideration of the costs of printing and mailing," according to a CDC announcement of the move that is printed in the July 18 MMWR.

Print distribution of several related publications, including Summaries of Notifiable Diseases, ended in 2011.
