ASSE Foundation's Silent Auction Taking Off

Bids on two of the offerings topped $1,300 early on June 10.

ORLANDO -- Fly fishing in Montana, two Walt Disney World Resort Complete Experience packages, two iPad Mini tablets, and a Nike Fubuki driver were among the most popular items in the ASSE Foundation's 2014 Safety Matters Silent Auction on the morning of June 10, the final day of the expo portion of the Safety 2014 conference.

The Walt Disney World Resort packages were lapping the field, with the high bid for one of them at $1,600 as the expo opened at 9 a.m. EDT. The other WDW Resort package's high bid stood at $1,320 at that time. The two iPad tablets were up to $530 and $300, and $250 was the bid for a half-day Montana fly fishing excursion. The Nike Fubuki driver's top bid was $205, well above the $115 bid for four tickets to a New York Yankees game.

From noon to 1 p.m. EDT June 10 at the foundation's booth 643, foundation officials will host a closing countdown and after party to reveal the winning bids on all of the items up for auction.
