New Safety App to Be Released
ProAct Safety gears up to release the Safety Culture Excellence mobile app in early December.
ProAct Safety announced Dec. 3 that it is set to release a mobile app in early December to assist safety professionals. Titled the Safety Culture ExcellenceSM mobile app, it will give users access to ProAct's library of safety articles, videos, and podcasts. In addition, the app notifies users when new resources and materials become available.
The app—compatible with devices that use Android and iOS—will be available for free in iTunes for both phones and tablet devices sometime during the beginning of December. Shawn Galloway, the president and CEO at ProAct Safety and an OH&S columnist, the app will help those who wish to improve the safety culture of their organization. "I have a strong desire to challenge thinking about what safety excellence is and isn't," he said.
Galloway added that providing people with an app is the easiest way for them to access information on improving safety culture, and he believes that we "cannot sell someone on safety excellence" just through an app, but rather the app is a beneficial tool for those who've already decided they would like to improve the safety culture at their organization.
