Beef, Pork in Missouri Recalled for Possible E. Coli

Cloud's Meats, Inc. recalled beef and pork products due to possible E. Coli contamination.

Cloud's Meats, Inc., based in Carthage, Mo., has voluntarily recalled beef and pork products because of possible E. coli contamination, the Missouri Department of Agriculture announced. The company decided to recall these products after routine testing in mid-November showed positive test results for non-0157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli.

The products recalled contain the code "318" and are labeled as Cloud' Meats or Cloud's Smoked Meats. The company recalled more than 1,000 pounds of ground beef, as well as 158 pounds of pork sausage, 152 pounds of ground pork, and 96 pounds of "Tenderized Minute Steak" and "Tenderized Round Steak."

According to the agency's news release, the samples were taken during routine testing conducted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture's Meat and Poultry Inspection program. The samples were then analyzed by the department's Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Cloud's Meats records do not show the products being distributed for retail sale, although companies or individuals who have them should return them immediately.
