Metal Finishing Plant Fined More Than $65,000

OSHA filed 15 safety violations against Har-Conn Chrome Co.

OSHA has cited Har-Conn Chrome Co., a metal finishing plant, with $66,220 in violations, following a complaint that prompted an investigation, according to a press release from OSHA. OSHA found 15 violations total.

Various violations included exposing employees to chemical and mechanical hazards, failure to provide emergency eyewash, failure to provide eye and face protection for workers, exposing workers to fire, failure to label containers of hazardous chemicals and more. The company had nine serious citations—totaling $29,260—which were issued for failure to monitor workers’ exposure levels to formaldehyde, failure to conduct an asbestos survey, failure to provide hand protection, failure to train workers on fire extinguishers and more.
